After naps, Taylor Swift, and mac ’n cheese, my next favorite thing is getting lost in meaningful conversation with thoughtful people. Some of my favorite college memories are of sitting in dimly lit hallways until 2 a.m., deep in conversation with other nerds about Big Ideas. Since moving back to Chicago, I’ve been missing that kind of space. But at some point, I realized: instead of waiting for it, I could just create it myself! And that’s where Curious Company was born. 🤗
Curious Company is a small, recurring gathering for curious, reflective people who want to think together. I originally considered starting a traditional book club, but I wanted something a little broader and more accessible for people with full lives and busy schedules. So instead, I imagined alternative formats: Some gatherings revolve around a short set of articles, podcasts, or videos to engage with beforehand – a "text set" that only takes 2-4 hours to complete. Other gatherings invite people to tackle the life's big philosophical questions – no prep required! We also venture out for field trips to experience the best of Chicago culture: plays, museums, lectures – anything that can spark curiosity and a deeper connection to humanity. And there may be even more in store for Curious Company – I can't wait to see where we go. 😊
More than anything, I want this to feel like a living-room space for slow thinking: warm, sincere, and intellectually alive. Not a debate club. Not networking. Not a lecture series. Just thoughtful people, good questions, new insights, and the chance to learn from one another. 🤓
